Alan E. Eckstein, age 68, passed away peacefully Friday, December 26, 2014, at home, surrounded by the love of his family. Alan was born August 24, 1946, the son of Lawrence and Evelyn (Parker) Eckstein. He married the former Trudy Ann Holz-Sitter. Trudy passed away August 8, 2008. Alan enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating and motorcycling. Alan is survived and will be missed by his children, Jackie L. Sitter of Oshkosh, Donald M. and Jennifer Sitter, Jr., of Oshkosh, Travis and Diane Eckstein of Omro; brothers, Bobby of Eureka, Larry of Omro, Pete of North Carolina; sisters, Sally Peterson of Lily, WI, Shirley Perzentka of Oshkosh; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Jim and Leo, and sister, Betty Dombrowski. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 N. Sawyer St., Oshkosh, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 12 Noon with Rev. Ritchie Cole officiating. Fox Cities Funeral & Cremation Services assisted the family with their planning.
