Al Licht lived a life that was first of all, dedicated to following God as well as supporting his family and helping others. He was always willing to help anyone in need. His most used phrase when asked how he was doing: "FANTASTIC". On Tuesday, May 7 at 9:45 PM he reached his goal of Paradise, and we will see him again someday.
Allan Earl Licht was born Friday the 13
th
of April 1956 in Worthington, MN. His family included his older sister, Penny, and younger brother, Eric. As he was growing up, Al's family moved to the Minnesota towns of Brandon, Shakopee, Royalton and LaPorte.
Renee and Al were married on September 18, 1976, in St. Cloud, MN at which time Al was working for Family Record Plan as a salesman and then later started his lifelong career with Sherwin Williams. He took a brief leave from Sherwin Williams in 1985 to own and operate, along with Renee, a family restaurant in Bemidji, MN named The Coachman Café. During this time Al was diagnosed with Lupus so he returned to employment with Sherwin Williams. So, that was the beginning of relocating to WI and finally residing in Oshkosh, WI. Al had a long and successful career with Sherwin Williams as a Store Manager and finally part-time repairing spray equipment.
We have been blessed with daughters: Chelsie, Charity, and Christy; sons-in-law: Cassidy and Matt; Grandchildren: Amelia, Colette, Aubrie, Henry and Cameron. Also: Al's sister Penny & husband Gary Borash and their 3 children and grandchildren; Al's brother Eric Licht and wife Amy and their 3 children. Al was close to Renee's family which included the families of Duane and wife Joan Zierden and their 4 children and grandchildren; Esther and husband Randy Carlson and their 3 children and grandchildren; Lloyd and wife Sandy Zierden and their 4 children and grandchildren; Maynard and wife Robin and their 3 children and grandchildren; Ardell Zierden; Bruce Zierden and his 4 children and grandchildren. Also, many wonderful cousins, friends and Church families.
Retirement brought us to Leesburg, FL during the winter months. It was a great relief for Al to live in the heat so he would no longer have to deal with the chilling cold of the WI winters.
Loving you changed my life
Losing you did the same
The love we shared brought
Light and joy, filling each day
With warmth and meaning
And when you left,
A piece of me went with you
Your presence, whether in life
Or in spirit, will always be a
Part of me, shaping my journey
And lighting my path
Forever grateful for
Our time together
Until we meet again… GOD BLESS
