Alma Louise Gaye was born at home on February 27, 1953 in Jenkins County Georgia to Eva Mae King and Joseph Bailey.
At the age of seven, Alma gave her life to Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Millen, GA.
Alma was raised in Millen, Georgia. Alma played basketball, softball, played the trumpet and was a drum majorette. Alma was Homecoming Queen at Jenkins County High School. Alma graduated from Jenkins County High School in 1972.
Alma loved her family and always enjoyed a good celebration. Alma loved to sing and raise a ruckus with her sister all through her live. Alma spent a short period of time in Alaska with her brother, Emory, during the late 1970's before returning home to Georgia. Alma enjoyed spending time with her sons and her family. Alma loved to fish in Georgia and Wisconsin. Alma held a variety of occupations during her life these were teacher's aide, customer service, food service and a variety of seasonal employment.
Alma Wiggs and Eddie Gaye met in the late 70's and were finally married on February 7, 1997. Alma cared for her husband prior to his passing in May of 2011. Alma spent the last several months of her life enjoying the company of family and friends.
Alma is survived by her mother Eva Hobson of Oshkosh, three sons, Travis Wiggs of Oshkosh, Marion Wiggs of Millen, GA and Chico Smith of Florida, and a sister Nancy Chishom of Oshkosh. Alma is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 20 nieces and nephews. Alma is also survived by a host of extended friends and family in Georgia and Wisconsin.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Gaye, three brothers; Jesse King, Jack Wiggs-King, Emory King, and a great niece, Corrinne Justiniano.
