Obituary
Arlene Catherine (Treffner) Schmidt, age 84, passed away on July 9, 2024, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She was born to parents Walter and Catherine Treffner on June 5, 1940, in Wisconsin.
On October 5, 1963, Arlene married the love of her life, Gordon Schmidt in Fox Lake, Wisconsin. Together, they raised two children. Arlene also worked as a Quality Assurance Inspector until her retirement.
Arelene enjoyed making cards and baking for her family. Her greatest love (after her children and fur babies) was the 15 plus years she volunteered at Evergreen. She painted nails, called Bingo, made crafts and led Trivia. She always had so many interesting stories to share with her family and all the residents.
She is survived by her children, John Gordon Schmidt of Sun Prairie, WI and Peggy Catherine (Michael) Hough of Oshkosh, WI.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Gordon Schmitd; parents, Walter and Catherine Treffner; brothers, Martin Treffner and Richard Treffner.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Living Water Lutheran Church, 1585 S. Oakwood Rd, Oshkosh, WI. Visitation is from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, with service to immediately follow.
Memorials in her honor may be sent to the charity of your choice.
