Audrey Edwards (1930 - 2011)
Audrey Edwards, age 80, wife of the late Oshkosh All Star Basketball Legend, Leroy "Cowboy" Edwards, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Born December 27, 1930, Audrey was the daughter of the late Raymond and Barbara Ryan of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Audrey married Leroy Edwards and they enjoyed much of their life in Indianapolis, Indiana where they raised their children and Audrey was a department manager at Sears Roebuck. Upon her husband's death, Audrey returned to her hometown of Oshkosh to be near her beloved family.
Audrey is survived by her son, Daniel (Cindy) Edwards of Frankfort, IL., and daughter, Jodie (Gary) Peters of Whitefish Bay, WI.; two sisters, Jeri Ryan of Oakland, CA. and Kathleen (David) Stetter of Rosendale, WI. Audrey has four grandchildren, Jason (Stacie) Edwards, Ryan Edwards, Nicholas Edwards and her granddaughter, Colleen Peters who all will remember their Grandmother as a jovial and loving person. In 2011 Audrey became, much to her delight, a Great-Grandmother to Alexis Nicole Edwards. Audrey will also be remembered by her three step-children, Patty Stevenson of Bossier City, LA., Leroy Edwards of Bossier City, LA., and Charles (Anne) Edwards of Lincolnshire, IL., and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service, honoring Audrey with family and friends, will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Lakeview Memorial Park in Oshkosh. Family and friends are invited to the Stetter Farm afterwards to celebrate and remember Audrey's life.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Audrey's name for use by the Northpoint Medical and Rehabilitation Center, 1850 Bowen Street, Oshkosh Wisconsin, 54901, 920-233-4011 , who provided Audrey with loving care and help during her stay there.
