Audrey E. Gilson, age 83, of Oshkosh, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, August 18, 2015, at Park View Health Center. Born on January 23, 1932, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Simon and Edith (Stead) Borst, Audrey married Robert J. Leu in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1974. She later married Douglas Gilson in 1978 and he preceded her in death in 2008. She enjoyed her flower garden, camping at Goodman County Park, and woodcarving (especially Bible verses). Audrey always looked forward to Sundays and time spent with her church family. Survivors include a son, William (Jodi) Leu of Oshkosh; two daughters, Kelly Fellion of Marinette, Wisconsin, and Lynn Murr of Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Victoria (Timothy) Rhine, Alicia Rye, Preston Rye, Amanda (Chris) Wilhorn, Annette (Eric) Rasmussen, Michelle Murr, and Erin Murr; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary (Eileen) Borst of Wild Rose; and nieces and nephews. Preceding Audrey in death are her husbands, two brothers, Erwin and Howard Borst, and a sister, Elaine Harris. Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. in Community Church, 2351 Ryf Road, Oshkosh, with Pastor Steve Olson officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Monday from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the church. Audrey's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Park View Health Center for the loving care given to her during her stay there.
