Obituary

Barbara Jean Hasner went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2024. Barb received Christ as a young teenager at a Lowell Lundstrom Crusade in South Dakota. Her motivation in life was to raise Godly children and encourage people to know the Lord and to grow in their faith.

Ken and Barb were married on August 2, 1969. They have four children, Adam (wife Jodi), James (wife Laurel), Amy (husband Aaron) and Emily.  Barb has twelve grandchildren: Adam has Abigail, Joshua and Christina; Jimmy has Abram, Elliette, Ezra, Judah, Ivy, Selah, Arden and Ansel; Amy has a daughter, Phoenix.

Barb grew up on a small dairy farm in Henry, South Dakota. Her parents were John and Doris Clark. She went to Henry High School and graduated with seventeen classmates. She went on to cosmetology school where she became an award-winning hair dresser. After graduating, Barb became the manager of an up-scale salon in Watertown, South Dakota.

Barb managed the beauty salon for two years until they moved from South Dakota to Kansas in 1971, for Ken's job opportunity. She then began to work at Sandee's (now known as Hardees) where she soon became a manager.  In 1974, she moved back to South Dakota and became a full-time mother, when Adam was born, and a part-time cashier at Ben Franklin, a department store.

In 1976, Barb and Ken started a Bible study and a Gospel singing group with students at the vocational school where Ken taught. Three years later, they joined the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC). In 1980, they moved to San Bernardino, CA to the headquarters of CCC. Jimmy was born in 1981. Ken and Barb joined the Prison Ministry in California before being transferred to Wisconsin.  Shortly after this move, in 1984, they had twin daughters, Amy and Emily. Barb always wanted twins and felt very blessed.

In Wisconsin, Barb spent her time as a wife, mother, and prayer warrior for her husband as he went into the prisons. Barb and Ken transferred to Athletes In Action (with CCC) where they enjoyed the ministry for twenty years. In 2010, Barb and Ken joined the ministry of Family Life (part of CCC) as Directors for the state of Wisconsin.

After 37 1/2 years with CCC, Barb and Ken retired and joined the ministry of SOWERs (Servants On Wheels Ever Ready). They have spent the last eight years traveling with the RV to different Christian schools, camps, rescue missions, and other Christian organizations, where they spent a month at a time helping where they could: cooking, painting, food service, minor construction, building furniture, and things that would help the organization to focus on spreading the Gospel. Barb loved doing this.

Service is set for Dec 4, 2024 at Calvary Bible Church 1450 Oakridge Rdd, Neenah 54956. Visitation Starts at 9:30, service is at 11:00 with a lunch to follow.

Barb suggested people wear bright colors for the celebration. Donations will be forwarded to the Jesus Film Project.
