Betty J. Alwin, age 81, of Oshkosh, died Monday evening, October 4, 2010, at Aurora Medical Center. She was born September 3, 1929, in Menasha, the daughter of Harold and Eleanor (Domkowski) Schaumann. Betty had worked as a nurse's aide for many years. She was a very social person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and singing in the Oshkosh Senior Choir.
Betty is survived by her children, Vicky (Scot) Van Asten of Oshkosh, James (Pat) Lamb of Neenah, Randy (Sarah) Lamb of Neenah and Lisa Lamb of Oshkosh; six grandchildren; one great grandson; brother, Jerry (Kelly) Schaumann of Larsen; sister, Carol Steidl of Menasha; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roy and Bill Schaumann; and sister, Dorothy Haack.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 10, 2010, at Bella Vista, 631 Hazel St., in Oshkosh. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation c/o The Eye Institute of WI, 925 N. 87th St., Milwaukee, WI 53226.
