Betty Dorow, 81, passed away at her home in Oshkosh on August 29, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 4, 1944, to Laura and Russell Terry in Oshkosh. Betty married Russell Dorow in 1965 and together, they had six children, Laurie Dorow, Michael Dorow, Robert Dorow, Kathy (Mickey) Stalberger, Karen Cantrell (Michael Derleth) and Holly Shapiro.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael; her parents; her sisters, Phyllis Bloesl and Shirley Terry; father of children, Russell Dorow; her good friend and neighbor, Cheri Berg and many in-laws and relatives.
She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Felda, Karen (Joe) Montalbano and Susan Terry; her children; her grandchildren, Jed (Naomi), Beth, Zack, Scarlett (Jackson), Drew, Stella and Lily; and great-grandchildren, Hailey and Brookelynn. Sister-in-law, Janet Fischer; nephews and nieces and her (much younger) friend, Linda Lind.
Betty had a passion for dancing and singing, bird watching, gardening, she was a voracious reader and was known as everyone’s babysitter. She helped care for generations of children and held a special place in the hearts of many families.
A memorial service celebrating Betty’s life will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh, WI, 54901. Visitation will be from 9:30am to 11:00am, with service and a time for sharing to start at 11:00am.
