Brian G. Humbert, 80 years old, went to his eternal rest on March 23, 2025, with his former wife and son by his side. He was born to Grace and Raymond Humbert in Evanston, but grew up in Des Plains, IL.
After serving in the Army in Seoul, Korea, Brian began to study art, attending the Academy of Art and The Art Institute in Chicago. Further studies were at UWO, where Brian met and married Kathy Dittmer, also receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Studio Arts. Brian then received his Master's Degree of Art at Northern, IL.
In 1972, the couple moved to Tempe, AZ, where Brian obtained his Master's Degree in Fine Arts. The family then moved to Berkeley, CA in 1973. While there, he had a spacious studio in downtown Oakland. He made many paintings there and was happy to have shown some in San Francisco and Berkeley.
Brian is survived by his now former wife and loving best friend, Kathy; his son Daniel (Danielle) Humbert and their four wonderful children- Natalie, Josiah, James and Micaiah, and the couple's daughter, Lena (Ben) Wood and their four dear children- Elizabeth, Jacob, Franceseca and Jonathan of Deerbrook, WI. As well as siblings, Kathy Humbert of Roselle, IL and Kevin (Karen) Humbert of Naperville, IL.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents; and older brother, Roger Humbert.
On April 28
th
at 11 O'clock, there will be a celebration of his life at River Valley Church, 425 Washburn Ave. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Oshkosh Seniors Center in his name.
