Brian W. McMahan, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2026, at Aurora Hospital, in Oshkosh, WI. He was born on October 29, 1956, to parents, George Delmar and Lelia Mary (Thomas) McMahan, in Michigan. One of nine children

Brian worked various factory jobs until he entered into the United States Army in 1977. He started out as an Aircraft Mechanic and then cross trained to do Attack Helicopter Repair. While enlisted, he was based in Germany and Texas. In 2025, he went back to Fox Valley Technical College and obtained his certification in the Semi Truck Driving Program with special additional driving techniques. Most recently he worked at Mercury Marine and was proud to be part of the team.

He also opened his own small business named Fixco. Most people will remember Brian for being a “Jack-of-all-trades.” He was doing repairs for restaurants and small appliances in people’s homes. He would say he “could fix anything.” He was very generous, had a great sense of humor, a very strong work ethic and was a “champion of the underdog.”

He is survived by his significant other, Christine “Chris” Erickson; siblings, Janet (Bruce) Derington, Randy (Susan) McMahan, Mike (Helen) McMahan, Cecil (Jan) McMahan and Carl (Diane) McMahan; and fur babies, Freeway and Charlie; as well as many friends he met along the way.

Preceding him in death were his parents, George Delmar and Lelia Mary (Thomas) McMahan; and siblings, Karen McMahan, Carole Latshaw and Alan McMahan.

The family would like Brian to be inurned at a local Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his honor.
