Callen "Cal" Bowe, 87, of West Bend passed away peacefully at the Cedar Lake Hospice on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.Cal was born May 17, 1930, a son to Eldred and Florence (Winkler) Bowe. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School,2 then went on to Lawrence College. After graduating, Cal served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. Cal owned and ran Bowe & Wenninger Realty in West Bend for many years and thoroughly enjoyed working with the public. For those who knew Cal, would agree he enjoyed and lived life to its fullest. He had a great passion for horses. He raised, trained and rode them til he was no longer able. Cal is survived by his 4 children, Debby Bowe, Pensacola, FL; Cal Bowe, Campbellsport, WI; Sue Bowe, Kewaskum, WI; and Bart (Sally) Bowe, Springfield, MO. Six grandchildren, Jessie (Kerry) Freeland, Brandy Brand, CJ Bowe, Brady Bowe, Kyle Bowe, Bailey Bowe and Bowe Starzman; 3 great grandchildren, Barrett and Haileigh Freeland, and Leona Clements. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.He is preceded in death by former wife and best friend, Barbara Bowe, parents Florence and Eldred Bowe, brother and sister-in-law John "Red" and Marge (Krell) Bowe. Cal's family would like to thank all of the staff at Cedar Lake Home and Hospice for making his last years as pleasant and comfortable as they could be.Private family services will be held.
