Carla Mae Peterson passed away peacefully at her home of 53 years on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Carla is survived by her sons: Patrick (Melanie) Matsche of Janesville, CA and Paul Matsche (Stormy Bierl) of Oshkosh, WI; brother, Dennis (Marilyn) Hammerseng of Coon Rapids, MN; and sister-in-law, Lois Hammerseng of Oshkosh.

Carla Mae was born in Oshkosh to Marcus and Lucile (Resheske) Hammerseng on May 22, 1941. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott; her parents, Marcus and Lucile Hammerseng; sisters: Phillis (Roy) Koch, Loraine (Frank) Hafeman, and Leatrice (David) Kloiber; and her brother, Leroy Hammerseng.

Carla enjoyed spending time with her family, cheering for the Packers, gardening, crocheting and quilting. She was known to be accepting of all those she met. Carla loved a spirited conversation and was not afraid to speak her mind. Carla enjoyed dinner out on the town and gambling at the casino. She will be missed.

The family would like to thank those who gave their love and time to Carla Mae; the kind folks at Affinity Hospice, Nurse Amy, her nieces: Susan Lang and Peggy Forseth, along with her neighbors Arden and Deanna Todd who were always there to help.

A celebration of Carla Mae's life will be held later in the spring.
