Obituary
Carol Ann Gauger left this world to be reunited with loved ones on Saturday, June 21st, 2025, at the age of 74. Carol was born in Oshkosh, WI, on October 10, 1950, to Lawrence and Ruth (Blum) Gauger.
She enjoyed working at Paine Lumber, as well as Kmart, and later was a volunteer for Mercy Medical Center.
The Gauger family learned about loss and the importance of family when Carol was a young child. Her brother Harold was taken in a car accident. The impact of his death solidified family as her biggest love and joy in life.
Carol will fondly be remembered for her wonderful and "famous" desserts and hands down, the best ham gravy anyone's ever tasted! All the children who were fortunate to have "Auntie Carol" in their lives will lovingly remember the Easter egg hunts that went on rain or shine! Carol could always be spotted at one of the many sporting events in her trademark vintage folding chairs with vinyl straps. She would never miss an opportunity to watch one of the family members in action!
Carol was thoughtful and loving. She also had a mind like a steel trap. She continued to put together personalized gifts for holidays with one's favorite treats, even into our adult years. She left this world too soon, and we will all be at a loss without her spirit to share.
Carol is survived by her sister-in-law, Pauline (Nielsen) Gauger; her special niece, Laura (Rodney) Gruse, who helped Carol with everything she needed; several nieces, nephews, great & great-great nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Ruth (Blum) Gauger; her brothers, Lawrence Gauger and Harold Gauger.
A funeral service for Carol will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1860 Wisconsin Street Oshkosh, WI 54901. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00am until the time of the service.
Carol's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the angels on earth who surrounded her with love and care. Thank you for making her feel comfortable and cared for in her final days.
