Claude Leroy Hanford, age 79, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Northpoint Medical & Rehabilitation Center in Oshkosh. Claude was born on August 29, 1932 to the late Fredrick and Iola (Spaulding) Hanford. On September 1, 1956, he married Alma (Krebs) Hanford in Manawa, WI. Claude proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years; son, Allen (Linda) Hanford; daughter, Cheryl Hanford; grandkids, Chelsea, Mandea, Samantha, Desiree, Jacob, Dominique, Makayla & Taylor; nine great grandkids; sister, Iola "Tootie" (Jerry) Johnson; sister in laws, Elaine & Judith Hanford; many nieces & nephews; special neighbor, Irene & also Zachary & Anna. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth Hanford; great grandson, William "Willie"; brothers, Fred, Robert "Doc" , Lloyd, Eugene & Frank; and sister, Melve (Kiel) Oestreich.
Claude had worked many years at Buckstaff's and Block Iron and worked many hours in his garage on his many lawnmowers.
The family would like to send a special THANK YOU to the staff at Northpoint Medical & Rehab Center, the staff of AseraCare Hospice and Dr. Tannan's office and also to the many friends that he made at Northpoint playing bingo and just stopping to say Hi.
Per Claude's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Condolences may be made to Alma by visiting or calling her.
