Claude H.Oltra, age 79, passed away peacefully on Monday June 17, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, WI with his family by his side. Claude was born on May 7, 1934, in Algiers French North Africa. He moved to Marrakech, Morocco during World War II after losing his father. His mother Juliette then married an American G.I. and moved to Chicago, IL with Claude and his younger sister Parquette (Parky). There he grew up with childhood friends which he still kept in contact with through all the years. During his early years Claude liked riding Harleys and Indian motorcycles and street rodding his 1951 Olds 98. Claude was in the Army from 1957-1959. He married Shirley Moss "the girl next door" in 1961.
Claude worked at a silk screening printing press manufacturer as an engineer until his retirement in 1995. He then moved to Butte Des Morts, WI to his house on the channel where he enjoyed fishing, boating, snowmobiling, going to the EAA airshow and doing projects around the house until his health this year would not let him continue any longer.
Claude is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley, sons, Marc (Patti) of Oshkosh, Alain (Debbie) of Oshkosh, grandchildren; Stephanie and Joshua and great grandchild Alex. A special thank you goes out to the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital's ICU, South and Chaplain Reyburn for their compassionate care and time given to Claude. Claude always wanted to fly now he has his wings. Services will be held at Morizzo Funeral Home, 2550 Hassell Rd., Hoffman Estates, IL on Saturday June 29, 2013, between the hours of 11:00 am-2:00 pm.
