Daniel D. Kennedy Sr, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, at 8:54am. Dad was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 5, 1949, the son of Laverne Kennedy, and spent most of their lives in Milwaukee.
Dad was employed at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for 37 years. In his free time, he enjoyed walks to the bridge overlooking the water, listening to Polka, playing card and board games, watching movies, loved making people laugh and also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family.
Dad attended Pius XI High School and is a High School Graduate.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet; mother, Laverne; sister, Bonnie; and brothers, Tom and Jim Kennedy.
Daniel is survived by his children, Daniel Kennedy Jr., Danielle Kennedy, Sherry Kennedy, Bo Kennedy and David Kennedy; grandchildren, Matthew Wallace Jr., Selena and Jayden Manns; brother, Kip (Mary Jean) Kennedy; sister-in-law, Sharon Kennedy; close friend, Tim; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and additional friends.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
