Obituary

David J. "Bonzo" Burns died unexpectedly at Appleton Medical Center on Saturday afternoon, May 15, 2004. Dave was born in Oshkosh on August 8, 1952 to Robert & Betty Salzsieder Burns. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1970. He married Linda Bush on February 2, 1980. Dave worked at Badger Lumber, Morgans, Square D and as a painter. He umpired for over 25 years. Dave enjoyed many sports but was best know for being an avid Packer fan. Family and friends will fondly recall and remember his warm inviting smile and his unselfish willingness to help others.

He is survived and will be missed by his best friend Linda Burns of Kaukauna, his mother; Betty Burns of Oshkosh; his brothers and sisters, Lyn (Jerry) Oswald, Bobby (Lori) Burns, Ronald (LeAnne) Burns, Andrea (Jim) Weisheipl and Wendy Burns all of Oshkosh; nieces & nephews, Brian, Scott, Kristin and Lydia Burns, A.J. & Sami Weisheipl and Andrew & Greg Oswald; Special Aunt Gladys Chalifoux and son Wayne, Uncle Herber (Janet) Salzseider; mother in law Florence Bush, friends, Steve & Joann Moon; his dogs & companions Beetle & Bailey and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; sister, Judy Diderrich and nephew Stephen Weisheipl.

Visitation will be Wed., May 19, 2004 at St. Peter's Parish, 435 High Ave., Oshkosh from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a Mass to follow at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Robert Kollath officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
