David P. Whitty, age 73, of Menasha, passed away Monday afternoon, November 16, 2015, at home surrounded by his family. Born on October 8, 1942, in Oshkosh, the son of the late John "Russ" and Kathleen "Kate" (Ratchman), and was married to Dorothy "Dot" (Remo). Dave served in the Army, and graduated from Oshkosh High, where many of his sports records still have yet to be broken. He enjoyed cooking, especially on Sunday, and will be remembered as being the voice of the family. He is survived by his wife; children, Ron (Di), Doug, Cathy (Tom), Kris (fiancée Tim), and Kim (Larry); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jo; brothers, Ralph and Joel (Nancy); many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends Tom, Rick, Rosemary, and Susie. Preceding Dave in death were his parents; a son, Bob; and a sister, Carol. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Fox Cities Funeral Home in Oshkosh.
