Deborah M. Lashua, age 59 of Neenah, lost her battle with a short illness on Wednesday August 12, 2009 at home, with the love of her family by her side. She was born on March 14, 1950 the daughter of the late David and Catherine (Burr) Rehorst. For a long time, she was an active member of the Neenah American Legion. She portrayed the subtitle role of "Poppy Princess". Debbie always opened her home to people who had no place to go on Christmas Eve; a part of her everyday character. She loved feeding and watching the birds and the other wildlife gather in her yard. We believe the birds carried her spirit to her final resting place. Share the wealth of your own families, that's how she would have it. We love you and you will be missed. Debbie is survived by her husband John, one son, Joseph (Tracy) Selwitschka, one daughter, Rohnda Selwitschka, brother, Joseph (Patricia) Rehorst, sister, Barb (James) Davis, eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, other relatives and friends. A Graveside Service for Debbie will be held on Thursday August 27, 2009 at 2:30 pm at Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Thedacare at Home Hospice for all the wonderful care and compassion that was given to Debbie and her family.
