Dennis R. Boettcher, age 76, of Winneconne, WI, died on May 5, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI. He was born on April 24, 1935, in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Roman and Edith (Hersekorn) Boettcher. Dennis graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1953 and earned his B.S. degree from Wisconsin State College (now UW Oshkosh) in 1957.

Dennis married Patricia Jean Lourie in Waterloo, Iowa, on February 11, 1961. After moving back to Wisconsin, he was plant manager at Industrial Towel & Uniform in Oshkosh and Neenah; later he was a supervisor at Rockwell International in Oshkosh. He retired from P.H. Glatfelter Company, Neenah, in 1997.

Dennis was a member of the Wisconsin National Guard, Iowa Air National Guard, and the U.S. Army. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and a 50-year member of the Masons, most recently with Lodge #186 of Winneconne, WI. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, and he loved all the dogs, cats, and horses that shared his life.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia, and daughter, Brenda (John) Nejedlo of Appleton, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial service is planned. Contributions in his memory to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society would be appreciated. The family gives sincere thanks to the thoughtful and caring nurses and doctors (specifically, Drs. Foley, Qureshi, and Koeper) at Mercy Medical Center who provided guidance and comfort during this difficult time.
