Devulson “Ray” Arnett, age 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 17, 2026, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was born on August 7, 1933, to Albert William and Grace Mae (Van Antwerp) Arnett, in Gibson City, Illinois. He graduated from Octavia High School in Colfax, Illinois.

Ray married Mary Lou Huston on May 24, 1959. They were blessed with 61 years together until her passing in September of 2020.

Truck driving was one of Ray’s greatest joys and a lifelong passion. He drove for various companies and independently before settling in Wisconsin and driving for N&M Transfer until he retired. Still plagued by the driving itch, he drove new Pierce fire trucks to their destinations throughout the United States and Canada.

In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising bird dogs and cutting lumber. After retirement, he fished as much as the weather would allow, gardened, built a model train in his basement and spent the winter cracking black walnuts.

He is survived by his children, Tery Arnett, Julie Appollo, Betsy (Jeff) Uhler and Bill (Stephanie) Arnett; nine grandchildren, Chris (Karissa) Arnett, Ashleigh (Austin) Young, Andrea (Connor) Lewin, Mary (Nick) Harvey, Sarah (Dan) Cluka, Kimberly (Matt) Ebbons, Taylor Arnett, Mikayla Arnett and Will Arnett; five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ethan, Bryce, Cypress and Noel; brother-in-law, Pat Huston; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his brother, Edward Arnett.

Per his wishes, no formal services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The National Diabetes Association in his memory are appreciated.

The family would like to thank the staff of Aurora Hospice and Oakwood Manor for the excellent care they provided Ray through his journey.

He will be remembered for being a loving and supportive father, his humor, his love of fishing, his strong work ethic and his love for the open road.
