Duane "Dewey" Melvin Langer (1946-2024)
Peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones at home, he joined his ancestral family on Wednesday, November 27th at the age of 78 years.
He was born to parents. Frank and Regina (Sepior) on July 9, 1946, in Wisconsin Rapids. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Judith; his three children and their families, Steven (Windy), Shawn (Ronda), and Angela (Richard); as well as 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brothers: Keith, Jeff, Doug, and Mike; as well as friends who will never forget the love he brought to their lives. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Regina as well as his brother, Roni, daughter-in-law, Tracy and grandson, Steven Jr.
He was a hardworking man who was truly dedicated to his family - everything he did was for them. He was an Army Veteran, with a National Defense Service Medal, both of which he was extremely proud of. Duane will always be remembered for his big heart, his love of laughter, and his infectious smile. His avid sports enthusiasm, love of the outdoors and fondness of the music from his youth will not be forgotten. Duane will be missed every day, and his memory will live in the hearts of those who loved him.
A memorial service will be held on July 9th, 2025, at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI at 3pm in the afternoon on his heavenly birthday.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at Ascension Mercy hospital and especially the CNA's for all their care and compassion after his stroke.
