DuWayne J. Sawall

June 14, 1956 — June 2, 2026

DuWayne “Dewey” Joseph Sawall, age 69, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at home with his beloved wife, Denise, by his side. He was born June 14, 1956, in Oshkosh, WI to the late Robert Sr. & Lorraine (Bartel) Sawall. He was a graduate of Oshkosh West High School. He married the former Denise J. Fritz on December 28, 1984, in Sun Prairie, WI. DuWayne was a truck driver for over 30 years and retired in 2014. He loved making things for his wife, playing cribbage & sheepshead, golfing with his brothers/friends, and fishing with his sons. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and a lover of his Kessler and diet Pepsi. One of his favorite things to do was riding his motorcycle and taking his wife on their weekly lunch dates.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 42 years, Denise; sons, Terry (Tracy) Sawall of Redgranite and Matthew (Jenny) Sawall of Appleton; brothers, Paul (Carol) Sawall, George (Kathy) Sawall and Ed (Pam) Sawall, all of Oshkosh; brother, Ben (Pam) Sawall of Pickett; sister, Joan (Darwin) Newell of Pickett; sister, Lynn Sawall of Stoughton; brothers- in-law, Mike (Kathy) Fritz of Mountain and Ken (Jan) Fritz of Appleton; his grandchildren, Samantha (Mitchell) Peterson of Oshkosh; Jackson & Wyatt Sawall of Appleton and Gavin Sawall of Ripon. He is further survived by his treasured great-grandchildren, Brayden Bortz & Madelyn Peterson; and other relatives and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Adam Sawall; parents, Robert Sr. & Lorraine Sawall; brothers, Robert Jr., Dennis & Lee Sawall; sisters, Jean Humphrey & Debbie Sawall; and his in-laws, Marcella and Sydney Fritz.

A celebration of DuWayne's life will be held at the Utica Town Hall. More information will be provided at a later date.
