Edward J. Weiler, age 86, of Oshkosh was reunited with his wife Jacqueline and his son Paul in heaven on October 10, 2012. Edward was born in Oshkosh on February 27, 1926, the son of the late Emma (Hetzel) and John Weiler. Ed married Jacqueline V. Peterman on March 29, 1953, in Oshkosh. She preceded Ed in death in 2005.
Ed attended Dutch College at Peace Lutheran Church; he enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and served during WWII. Ed's hobbies included fishing, hunting, boating, and watching Packer's and Badger's games. Ed also enjoyed taking his family to Kusel Lake and Evergreen campground on the weekend. Throughout his life Ed was never without a dog as his companion.
Ed worked thirty five years at General Beverage as a salesman/truck driver.
Ed is survived by his daughter Linda Johnson of Oshkosh, and his son John (special friend Chris Richardson) Weiler of Oshkosh. Ed was a proud grandfather and a special companion to Kevin Johnson.
Ed is further survived by his in laws: Dorothy Sprague, Nathan (Mary Fay) Peterman, David Peterman, and Ralph (Mary Jo) Peterman, brother in law Ted Vanden Berg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline, his son Paul, his parents Emma and John, his brother Earl, and his mother and father in law, Leone and Nate Peterman.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday October 14, 2012, at Peace Lutheran Church, 240 W. 9th Avenue, Oshkosh from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Hanusk officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
