Edward “Eddie” Clarence Wilcox, 79, passed away on August 24, 2026, in Oshkosh, WI. He was born on March 6, 1947, to parents, George and Betty Wilcox in Oshkosh, WI. Eddie graduated from Fox Valley Technical College with a certificate as a Diesel Mechanic, working for Ryder Truck Rental and Kimberly Clark. He was also an entrepreneur as well as a landlord in Oshkosh for many years.
He served proudly in the U.S. Air Force and on July 30, 1966, he married the love of his life, Dianne Strong for 55 years. Together they raised four children. Eddie enjoyed camping, fishing, photography, watching the Green Bay Packers with Dianne, building and generally making things with his hands.
Eddie is survived by his children, Ann (Lance) Thern, John (Wendy) Wilcox, Mary (Jimmy Phillip) Wilcox and Robert (Kristalee) Wilcox; grandchildren, Jessica (Aaron) Tobison, Lucas (Julia) Henlsin, Michael Wilcox, Noah Henslin, Mitchell Wilcox, Erik (Arizona Lynn Hinz) Thern, Edward, Ryelee, Simeon and Jaylee Wilcox; great-grandchildren, Anthony Tobison, Bentley Henslen, Aria Henslen, Haisley Grey Marie Thern, Amaya Tobison and Esconar Tobison. He is further survived by brothers, Dan (Dolores) Wilcox and Joe (Julie) Wilcox; and sister, Rena (Robert) Gomach; as well as many other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Wilcox; parents, George and Betty Wilcox; as well as a miscarried child and grandchildren, who the Lord has named.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Aurora Medical Center of Oshkosh as well as Dr. Jafri and the Vince Lombari Cancer Center.
There will be an 11am visitation before the memorial service at 1pm on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church, 1526 Algoma Blvd., with Rev. Tom Voss officiating.
Although this is tough for us that Eddie has left this earth, we can rejoice that he has been reunited with Dianne in heaven.
