Eileen M. Lofgren
Eileen M. Lofgren, age 58, of Oshkosh, died at home February 24, 2007, after a nine year battle with cancer. She was born on February 21, 1949 in Chicago Illinois, the daughter of Gerald and Margaret Corcoran. They have preceded her in death. She graduated in 1971 with a B.S. in History from Loyola University. Eileen married Donald R. Lofgren on May 20, 1974. They are blessed with two sons. As an active member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, she served on the board, taught Sunday school,& helped plan many women's retreats. Eileen was active in Marriage Encounter, both in Chicago, where she served on the board, and Oshkosh, where she participated in weekend retreats and helped to start couples groups. After transferring to Christ the Rock Community Church, she completed the Lay Counseling training program. She then helped start the Christ centered recovery program Celebrate Recovery, and became the ministry leader. For fifteen years out of her home, Eileen ran the local Al-teen program, being joined by Candy B. as her cosponsor. She had a real heart for young people. Eileen had a love for camping and scouting. She served as Den Mother to Pack 103 and committee member for Boy Scout Troop 603. She is the former member of the 1871 Hot Timers in Chicago and Timber Toppers square dance club in Oshkosh. She also enjoyed touring the countryside with her husband and friends on motorcycles. Eileen is survived by her husband Donald, sons Timothy and Brian, stepsons Don Jr. and Eric, brothers Jerry and Dan Corcoran, both of Chicago, many nieces, nephews, and best friend Vicki Dunphy. A Memorial Service for Eileen will be held on Saturday March 10, 2007, at 11:00 A.M., at Christ the Rock Community Church (W6254 Hwy 10-114 Menasha, (920) 730-8383) Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until time of services, with a luncheon to follow. Memorials may go to Eileen's youth group.
