Obituary

Elden "Skip" W. Skifstad Jr., age 88, passed away on March 27, 2025, in Oshkosh, WI, with his family by his side. He was born on October 6, 1936, to parents Elden and Ella (Pruno) Skifstad Sr., in Wisconsin.

Skip enlisted in the Marines and came back to Wisconsin. In 1958, he married Carol Rice, who gave him four beautiful children. Then again on August 25, 1972, he married the love of his life, Sandra Hasse. Together, they raised all 7 children while he worked as an across the states semi-truck driver. One of his favorite jobs was working at LNH Leasing and being known as the "Diesel Doctor." He retired from Midwest Carriers, at age 83.

Spending time with his family meant everything to him. Taking family trips and making memories was priceless. He will be remembered for being an awesome Dad, husband, and grandfather. He was a huge support to his family and put everyone else before himself.

He is survived by his children, Lee (Jon) Weiss, Brenda (David) Schaffer, Elden Skifstad III, Rex (Kalie) Skifstad, Diana Boehning, Gwen Beyers, Tammy (Marvin) Flowers; grandchildren, Lisa (Rich) Hawkins, John Galston Jr., Katie (Steven) Harris, Brian Galston, Richard Buhrow Jr., Crystal Skifstad-Schaffer, Cassie Broege, Chad Broege, Patrick (Montana) Skifstad, Brett Boehning, Ashley Boehning, Austin Byers, Brandon Hart, Nicholas Hart, Steven Hart (Crystal Vergin), Malachi Flowers; several great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandsons; sisters, Vida (Tom) Voissem and Marlene Klapper; as well as many other family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Elden and Ella (Pruno) Skifstad Sr.; wife, Sandra Skifstad; daughter, Julie Skifstad-Dodd; brothers, Willard Skifstad and LaVerne Skifstad; niece, Robin Parker; brother-in-law, Ronnie Klapper; and in-laws, Austin and Elma Hasse.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at St. John Evangelical Church, 808 N. Main St., Oshkosh, WI, 54901, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, service to follow at 4:00pm, with Military Honors to take place at approximately 4:45pm.

The family would like to thank Aurora at Home Hospice, especially Erin, Jessica, Tammy, Kelly and Chaplin Michelle for all their care and guidance along the way.
