Elroy R. Snyder, age 65, of Ladysmith, formerly of Oshkosh, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 24, 2010. He was born June 23, 1945, the son of Clarence and Margaret Snyder. Elroy had worked at the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department and then later worked for the Prison in Oshkosh. In 1999, he transferred from the prison in Oshkosh and moved to Ladysmith. Elroy was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. His wife fondly recalls how he enjoyed spending his free time shopping.

Elroy is loved and will be missed by his wife, Anna of Ladysmith; son, LeeRoy of Neenah; mother, Margaret; grandson, Randy Olsen; brother, Jere (Luanne) Snyder; step-children, Clifton (Denise) Leathers, Debra (Jay) Miller, Leonard (Rebecca) Leathers, and Charty (Kevin) Cantrell. Elroy is further survived by nieces, nephews, 14 step-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Elroy was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda; sister, Marleen; brother, Marvin and his father, Clarence.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 P.M. Elroy will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Anna B. Snyder.
