Eugene H. Laatsch, age 85, passed away, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, August 28, 2022. He was born on February 16, 1937, the son of the late Margaret and Eloys Laatsch. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Berta; son: Barry (Laurie) Laatsch; grandchildren: Logan and Ellerie Laatsch; brother, Don (Dolly) Laatsch; sister, Yvonne Fritz; and plenty of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Mark.

He served in the Army from 1958 until 1960, stationed in Germany; where he met his wife. When he returned to the states he worked for Rockwell International for 35 years. Gene enjoyed pheasant, turkey and deer hunting with his family. He enjoyed making memories with his grand kids and family at his cabin up north in Ashland County. Further, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, dartball, horseshoes, and especially watching all his kids and grandkids sporting events. He was always the life of the party and certain to tell a joke.

A visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, followed by military honors, at Fox Cities Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial fund in Gene's name is being established.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton and to special neighbors and friends, Jim and Connie Stevenson.
