Obituary

Everett M.Mathison (Matt), age 86, went home to Heaven into the loving arms of Jesus peacefully on Sunday, December 2, 2012. Everett was born May 3, 1926, in Navarino the son of the late Merril and Rose (Weisheit) Mathison. Everett graduated from Neenah High School in 1944. He served in two branches of the armed forces, beginning in the Air Force before joining the Navy in 1947, and receiving an honorable discharge in 1954. Everett worked for Wisconsin Bell and AT&T communications until he retired in 1986. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and bowling. Everett also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his many grandchildren.
Everett is survived by his wife of 58 years, Myrtle, his children: son, Archie (Billie) Mathison, his four daughters; Cindy (Steven) Asmus, Jean (Doug) Kuehne, Dawn Mathison, and Traci Mathison, and his brother Doug, two sisters Mavis (Vernon) Ganzer, and Shirley (Harland, "Bud") Schuelke. Everett is further survived by eleven grandchildren: Adam, Amy (Brian), Erica, Heather, Archie Jr. (Sara), Nancy, Joshua (Lindsey), Tim, Alicia (Josh), Alexander, and Aidan, and thirteen great grandchildren: Jordan, Jacob, Seth, Elizabeth, Kegan, Elijah, Saphira, Arianna, Nicholas, JJ, Tyrese, Nolan and Donovan.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents Merril, and Rose, his step father Bill Weisheit, and his sister in law Barb Mathison.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Interfaith Christian Assembly, 344 Smith St., Neenah, on December 8, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. until the memorial service at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Kenneth Berndt officiating.
The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice for the attention and compassion that Everett received while in their care.
