Obituary

Frank "Frankie" Nalewick, Jr., age 83, passed away on December 17, 2010. Frank was born in Saginaw, Michigan on December 6, 1927, the son of Frank J. and Stella (Lamanik) Nalewick. Frankie was a life long resident of Saginaw. For health reasons, he moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin in 2004 so that he could be closer to his daughter, Amy, and grandson, Norman.

In the 1950's Frankie was active in Community Theatre where he acted and was a stage manager at Pit & Balcony Theatre. In the 1960's Frankie became interested in Buddhism and eventually was ordained a Buddhist Priest. He retired from General Motors in May 1977, where he worked on the assembly line.

Frankie loved all animals; especially his Siberian Husky dogs. He loved nature and liked to spend time in the forest, meditating. Frankie loved polka music and Polish food. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, dancing, and painting. Frank was a darn good cartoonist. Frank is survived by his children, James Nalewick, Whitehall, Bethany Hazard, Flint, Amy Bedford, Oshkosh, WI, Julie Nalewick, Swarts Creek, and Kasia Nalewick, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; one grand niece; and many dear friends and neighbors on Robinwood Street. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Elenore Ganchaw; and one niece, Carol Granchaw.

A Memorial Service will be held in Saginaw, Michigan at a later date. There will never be another like him – the Polish Eagle flies again!
