Frankie L. Akins II, age 18, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday, March 18, 2007. He was born on November 3, 1988 in Baton Rouge, LA to Frank and Karen (Simmons) Akins. Frank loved to play baseball and also enjoyed listening to music, fishing, and playing basketball with his friends.
He is survived and will be missed by his mother, Karen Simmons of Oshkosh; three sisters, Frances, Cameron and Chrystal Akins, all of Oshkosh; his grand parents, James and Helen Akins, Greensburg, LA and Frances Pilch of West Pompano Beach, FL; uncles, Keith (Annmarie) Simmons of Waukau, WI, Kent (Tonya) Simmons of LA, Darren Brown of Texas, Kelly Brown of LA; aunts, Capri (Allan) Lewis of Winnsboro, SC, Sheila Prescott, Beverly and Angie Akins, all of LA; several cousins and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Frankie L. Akins and grandmothers, Margaret Weaver, Kate Porter (maw maw) and uncle, Randy Akins.
There will be a remembrance gathering for family and friends on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Waukau Youth Building, 2711 Hwy 116, Waukau, (next to Old School House) from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 24 from 1 – 2 p.m. at Popes Funeral Home with burial immediately following at Oaklawn Cemetery in Winnsboro, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
