Franklyn "Pinky" Campbell, age 83, of Oshkosh, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Northpoint Medical and Rehab Center. Pinky was born December 5, 1929, in Gilman, IL to the late Leroy and Synnove (Fern) Campbell. Pinky spent his youth in Peru, IL and in high school he was a gifted athlete in baseball, football and basketball. He attended college in Peru, IL where he was a quarterback for the football team. Later in life he was a ranked tennis player and was club manager at the Four Seasons Tennis Club in Wilton, CT.
In his early years, Pinky worked for General Electric, Walker Manufacturing, American Air Filter and in 1971 he became the president of Artcarved, Inc. Pinky also worked for Lenox Candles as the controller. Pinky was instrumental in organizing the YMCA tennis center in Oshkosh.
Pinky will be fondly remembered by his wife Helen, children; Cynthia Olson of Westfield, IN, Gary (Evvy) Campbell of Flushing MI, and Debbi Campbell of Timnath, CO, his sister LeAnn Hahn of Indianapolis, IN, and his step children; Todd (Mignon) Dittmer, and Ashley (Jordan) Jungwirth. Pinky was a proud grandfather to; Gretchen (Eric)Wettschrack, Peter(Alyssa) Olson, Greg(Jessie)Campbell, Jeff (Kate) Campbell, Ben (Carrie) Guffey, Alex Guffey, Michael (Erin) Thompson, Kristina Thompson, Alyssa, Jordan and Michael Jungwirth, Mackenzie and Mollie Dittmer. Pinky is further survived by seven great grandchildren.
Per Pinky's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
