Frederick Steven Rothe age 74, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife on Monday, February 9, 2026 at their home in Omro, Wisconsin. Fred was born on December, 16, 1951, to parents Merle and Ione Rothe.

Fred dedicated his life to hard work and craftsmanship, having trained as a maintenance journeyman and applying his skills at Oshkosh Truck, where he made many friends. His commitment to excellence and determination made him a respected figure in his field.

He was a devoted husband to Deanna Rothe. Their marriage was a testament to love, partnership, and mutual respect, each being the other's greatest support and joy.

In his free time, he could often be found tinkering with motors, fishing and riding on his motorcycle.

Fred is survived by his wife, Deanna Rothe; sons, Steven (Dawn) Rothe, Ben Rothe and Josh Rothe; daughter, Krista Rothe; step-son, Austin Hoppe; grandsons, Alex, Konnor, Emmett, Blayze and Weston; brothers, Larry (Carol) Rothe, Darrell (Jean) Rothe, Neil (Sue) Rothe and Leonard (Sue) Rothe; sisters, Carla (Charles) Jefferis, Doris (Donald) Fellwock and Karen (Loren) Rangeloff; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Ione Rothe; as well as his brothers, Richard Rothe, Ronald Rothe and Arlin Rothe; and sister, Marlene Halsey.

He is remembered for his warm spirit and kind heart. Those who knew him will always treasure their memories of a man who was generous, dedicated, and lived life with a quiet dignity.

A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at a later date to honor his memory and share stories.
