In Loving Memory of Gavyn David Garcia
March 9, 2007 – October 16, 2026
It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we announce the passing of our beloved Gavyn, who was taken from us far too soon on October 16, 2026, at the age of 19.
Gavyn was a son, a brother, a grandson, a boyfriend, a friend, and a light in the lives of so many. Though his life was far too short, the impact he made will last forever. He had a smile that could light up the room and a presence that made him unforgettable. His laughter, his energy and the countless memories he created will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
Gavyn graduated from Oshkosh North High School in 2025. He loved playing basketball and spending time with his family, his girlfriend, Jayvee, and his friends, who meant so much to him. Whether he was on the basketball court or simply surrounded by the people that he loved, Gavyn had a special way of making moments meaningful. He touched more lives than he could ever have known, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and memories that time can never take away.
Gavyn is survived by his loving mother, Michelle, who loved him with her whole heart; and his father, Angel. He is also survived by his siblings, Aadyn and Amare’ “Dito” at home, Ashlei, Angel III, Andres, Bella, Adien and Aniyah; his grandparents, Lynn McBrair and Maria Garcia; his girlfriend, Jayvee; his extended family; countless friends; and all those whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Elk’s Club, 175 W Fernau Ave., Oshkosh, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his honor.
Although our hearts are broken by his absence, the love that we have for Gavyn will never fade. He will forever be a part of us, carried in our memories, our stories and the love that will always connect us to him. Nineteen years was not nearly enough, but the love he gave and the lives he touched will endure for a lifetime.
Forever 19. Forever our son. Forever our brother. Forever loved.
Until we meet again, our beautiful boy. ❤️
