Gilbert "Gib" Meisinger passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the age of 77. Gib was born on September 16, 1947, in Oshkosh to Audrey (Ehrenberg) and Louis Meisinger Jr. He graduated from Oshkosh Lourdes and was passionate about many sports. After high school, Gib proudly served in the Army for two years.
Many would tell you that Gib's competitive nature could be seen throughout his life. He enjoyed bowling, playing Sheepshead, and playing fast-pitch softball with Tommy's Angels for many years. Throughout his time on the team, he helped lead the team to 8 International World Softball Congress Championships. After his glory days, he enjoyed being around friends, sharing stories while throwing a few back at some of his favorite local establishments.
He is survived by his brother, Gerald (Jerry) Meisinger; his three nieces, Carrie (Kevin) Kuklinski, Robyn (Marty Fournier) Kargus, and Molly Meisinger; special family friend, Sue Zellmer; and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, whom he took care of for many years
Per his wishes, there will be no formal service held. His final resting place will be at Lake View Memorial Park. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 5th at 12:00pm at Bobs Trails End (500 Merritt Ave, Oshkosh, 54901).
