Obituary

Glenn Edwin Erickson, (formerly of Neenah, WI) born May 21, 1950, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7 at Aurora Hospital, Green Bay after a short time on hospice.

Glenn was the oldest of five children, born in Neenah, WI, to Robert and Betty (Pagel) Erickson. He was a member of Neenah High School's graduating class of 1969. He held various jobs before working at Theda Clark Hospital for more than 30 years up to his retirement. Even while working, he continued to care for animals on the farm. He was a proud third-generation farmer.

He always put the needs of others before his own--a driving force that shaped his life and led him to volunteer countless hours in so many ways. Glenn was active with the Winnebago County 4-H program his entire life, and would have celebrated 50 years as a leader in 2026, He led the Busy Bees 4-H Club for many years and served on the 4-H Leaders Association, the pizza and meat animal sale committees, and as dairy barn superintendent and Wisconsin State Fair Chaperone (do you remember the yellow shoes?).

Glenn also served on the Winnebago County Fair Association and World Beef Expo Boards of Directors. He enjoyed playing sheepshead with friends and volunteering as a firefighter for the Town of Vinland. He was a proud member of both the Wisconsin Cattlemen's Association and the Midwest and American Pinzgauer Associations.

Although Glenn didn't have children of his own, he was deeply involved in the lives of his nieces and nephews—helping many of them find their own path through 4-H. He made sure everyone knew that polka was the only radio station allowed, whether you were helping with chores in the barn or catching a ride into town.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Erickson, and his brother, Alan (Sam) Erickson.

He is survived by his sisters, Gloria Erickson, Karen Ingala and Carol Bergstrom and foster sister, Tammy Chapman; and his nieces and nephews, Eric (Jennifer) Janikowski, Becky Sahli, Olivia (Jeff) Herrick, Noah (Alisha) Mattern, Rachel (Eric) Harmann, Samantha (Clint) Erickson and Krista Erickson. He will also be dearly missed by his great-niece and great-nephews, Alex, Owen, Mason, Carter, Clayton, Hunter, McCoy, Keaton, Zander, Kase and Kinslee.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Brooks Cemetery (Town of Vinland), at 11:00am. A celebration of life will be held on the following Sunday, November 16, 2025, starting at 11:00am and will continue in the afternoon at Winkler's Westward Ho, 4905 County Hwy S, Oshkosh, WI, 54904.

Glenn's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to his dear friends Steve and Mary Kuehnl for their care and companionship over the years, as well as to the Town of Vinland First Responders and the staff at Sycamore Lodge-Algoma, and Aurora Medical Center, Green Bay for their compassion and support. A special thank you to Nurse Brynn for her angel-like spirit in his final moments.

He will be remembered for his generous heart, quick wit, and dedication to helping others, a true example of a life well lived and deeply loved.
