Greg T. Maas, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born October 14, 1955 to Robert N. and Beatrice (Kamkes) Maas.
Greg battled MS for 24 years and cancer for the past 10 years. He was proud to be alcohol-free the last eight years of his life. Greg was an extremely avid fisherman spending most of his time in his boat out on the lake. This summer he got his lifetime dream of a trip to Alaska.
Greg is survived by his brother Mike (Cheryl) Maas of Menasha and their daughter Nicole Maas; sister Pat Wiegand of Menasha and her daughter Kelly (Mike) Wing and their children Mikayla and Bobby; brother Rick Maas of Appleton and his son Marshall and daughter Marco (Cory) Feivor and their son Quinn; sister Melisa (Robin) Sprangers of Menasha and their children Ashley and Scott; mother Beatrice Maas of Menasha; uncle Howard (Sandy) Kamkes; 13 cousins, two very special young friends Jaxon and Claire Fuhrman (Oshkosh); kind neighbor Chuck B.; kind neighbor Lynda.
Greg is preceded in death by his father Robert N. Maas; grandparents Albert and Sophie (Pawlacyk) Maas; grandparents Richard and Bernice (Selig) Kamkes; aunts Marge (Owen) Tate, Mary Jane Springer, Theresa (Eugene) Rockweit, and cousin Carla (Springer) Lindgren.
A memorial gathering for Greg will be held at Fox Cities Funeral and Cremation at 3026 Jackson St., Oshkosh, north of Jon's Sport Shop, on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be made to the Dream Foundation.
