Obituary

Harold Lee Schaffer, 89, passed away on Saturday, November 17,2018 at Park View Care Center.

Harold was born on July 12,1929 to John and Caroline (Lewis) Schaffer. He was an incredibly devoted family man. He spent a lot of time in his machine shop and was also an inventor. He served in the US Army. He was a Sergeant First Class during the Korean War as a paratrooper and served in Headquarters Battery 88th Airborne Anti-Aircraft Battalion.Following his service he worked at Medalist Industries and Fenestra. He also spent time with his sons, skydiving at the Omro Drop Zone.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Clara (Wilson); children, Donald and Gregory; parents; and brothers and sisters.

Harold is survived by his children, Theresa (Ronald) Washburn, Joan (Steve) Habeck, and Sam (Terri); grandchildren, SSG Philip (Sheila) Schoenauer, Becca (Gary) Jepson, Rhonda (Eric) Reinke, Lindsay Washburn, Tonia (Eric) Sawicki, Kristi (William) Kimoté, and Katie (Paul) Nyborg; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Nellie Elendt; and many nieces and nephews.

Harold's visitation will be on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at St. Mary Most Blessed Sacrament Parish at 619 Merritt Ave. Oshkosh, WI 54901 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a service to follow.
