Helen Virginia Stratton, age 86 of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday March 21, 2010 at Aurora Medical Center while under hospice care. Helen was born in Ripon, Wisconsin on December 28, 1923 the daughter of William and Frances ( Kitowski) Jaworski. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1941. Helen attended Ripon College and Fox Valley Tech in Appleton. On June 1, 1946 she married Charles Bemis Stratton. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include one son, Lawrence (Donna) Stratton of Winneconne, two daughters, Mary (Tim) Hamer of Bell, Florida and Suzanne (Gerald) Otradovec of Oshkosh, eight grandchildren; Larry (Debbie) Stratton, Oshkosh, David (Nicole) Stratton of Burnsville,Minnesota, Denise (Jason) Young, Neenah, Lance (Jennifer) Stratton, John (Tammy) Hamer, Kristina (Dana) Kleveland, Teresa (Corey) Otradovec, Gerald (Crystal) Otradovec, all of Oshkosh, nineteen great-grandchildren, four sisters; Marge Beuthin, Joan (Alan) Kennedy, Anne Brown, and Martha (Eddie) Manthey, one sister-in-law, Beverly Jaworski, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband Charles, her first son Robert Stratton, one brother Roman, and three sisters, Betty, Mary and Jo. Helen loved all of her great-grandchildren and cherished the times she would get to see them. Her hands were always busy crocheting and knitting, something for them. She loved playing bingo at Lakeshore Manor, were she was a resident for the last six months of her life. She was also an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers. A Memorial Mass for Helen will be held on Thursday March 25, 2010 at 11:00 am at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish (St. Mary Worship Site, 605 Monroe Street-Oshkosh) with Father James Jugenheimer officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until time of Mass. A special thank you to Dr. Rebekah Schroeder, Aurora nurses, Michelle and Tina, Aurora VNA Hospice and Lakeshore Manor for all of the wonderful care that was given to Helen and her family.
