Ione C. Gladoske-Hughes, 86, went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2010, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease, at Lakeshore Manor in Oshkosh. Ione was born on Oct. 9, 1923, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Gassen) Eidemiller. She graduated from the former Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac in 1941. Ione was employed at Damrow. She later worked at Giddings and Lewis. She married Calvin Gladoske in 1944. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Fond du Lac where she was involved in various committees. Ione was a member of a community homemaker's club. She enjoyed many arts and crafts. In 1986, she married John H. Hughes. Survivors include her daughters: Cheryl (Garry) Decker of Oshkosh and Melede (Harvey) Gerwig of Kailua, Hawaii; her grandchildren: Julie Ramge, Shelly (Ross) Masters, Jeffrey Steenberg Garry (Alicia) Decker II, Robert Gerwig, Steven (Erin) Gerwig and Kristy (Darrell) Osborn; her great-grandchildren: Miranda Ramge, Ben Gerwig and Gillian Gerwig. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, June Parsons; her ex-husband, Calvin in 1997, and her husband, John, in 2001. A private memorial service will be held at a future date. A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer's Association.
