Jack Edward Frohn, age 88, passed away shortly after his wife, joining her on a higher journey on April 30, 2025, in Appleton, WI. He was born on April 25, 1937, to parents, Charles Edward and Blanche Irene (Nelson) Frohn, in Ladysmith, WI.
He graduated from St. Charles high school and worked as a short order cook to put himself thru college in Aurora, IL. This is where he met the love of his life, Dorothy Cottrell. After receiving a bachelor's degree, he became an ordained minister and graduated Seminary at Northwestern Baptist.
April 25 was not only for his birthday, but in 1959, became the day he got married.
Jack and Dorothy moved among the states of Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa and where they were needed the most. Jack was also a police chaplain for a period.
Aside from various church missions, he held positions at a Church in Newton, KS, Aurora, IL, Juda, WI, Mauston, WI, Omro, WI, Phillipsburg, KS, Green Lake Assembly Ground, WI, UCC in Grand Marsh, WI and UCC in Waukon, IA. He retired in the late 1990's but Ministry is never something you finish doing. He called himself a "small town minister," but his big heart and teachings reached around the world.
Jack could run an entire camp nearly by himself, everything from cooking, leading events and grounds keeping. Some of the camps included Camp Tamarack in Chain O' Lakes, WI, Camp Christy in Kansas, and Pilgrim Camp in Green Lake, WI.
In his free time, Jack liked to tell "Dad" jokes, collect antiques, cook baked Alaska for a crowd with friends to keep his chef skills sharp, and was a published author. He could think on his feet and stayed calm in emergencies, by writing sermons in 2 hours and whipping up lunch for 200 hungry campers.
He is survived by his son, Edward "Martin" James (Partner) Frohn; daughter, Joyce Elizabeth (Anthony Hengst) Frohn; granddaughter, Elizabeth Gwendolyn Frohn Hengst; brother, David Frohn; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding him in death was his beloved wife, Dorothy Frohn; parents, Charles Edward and Blanche Irene (Nelson) Frohn; brothers, Gary Frohn, and Richard (Toni) Frohn; sister, Shirley Frohn; sister-in-law, Fern Elizabeth (Vinay) Likhite; and brothers-in-law, Keith Leslie (Claudia) Cottrell and Alson Barney Cottrell.
