Obituary

Jacqueline A. Soley, age 79 of Winneconne, passed away Wednesday April 29, 2009 at home with her family by her side. Jackie was born in Oshkosh on October 8, 1929 the daughter of the late Edward and Ardene Patterson Abell. She attended Oshkosh Schools and in 1959 moved to Winneconne with her family. In 1961, Jacqueline married James Richard Soley and they owned and operated Jim and Jackie's Bar from 1966 to 1973. For the past twenty-seven years, Jackie was a foster care provider, opening her home to many handicapped adults. Survivors include her two daughters; Peg (Fred) Gierke, of Winneconne and Pam (Don) Daczyk of Allenville, two grandchildren; Jackie (Paul) Schulz of Suamico and Jim (Abby) Daczyk of Oshkosh, three great-grandchildren; Lauren, Brody and Torrie, one brother Robert Abell of Mt. Morris, several cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim who passed away January 7, 2009, her parents and one brother Dick Abell. Visitation and Funeral Services for Jackie will be held on Saturday May 2, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Lake View Memorial Park Chapel (2786 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh), with visitation starting at 11:00 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Jackie's name is being established. A special thanks to the nurses of Affinity Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
