Obituary

James "Jim" "Papa" W. Bochinski, age 80, passed away with his family by his side on June 16, 2025, in Oshkosh, WI. He was born on August 2, 1944, to parents, Joseph J. and Marie (Sipple) Bochinski, in Oshkosh, WI.

After attending high school, he married the love of his life, Judith "Judy" Demler, in Oshkosh, WI on July 23, 1966. Jim proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he furthered his education and learned many new skills as a Supply Sargent. Judy joined him when he was stationed in Germany, and they started a family.

Jim and Judy returned to Wisconsin to be closer to his parents. He started a life-long career in sales and became the "hostess man." He was able to retire at 57 years old.

He enjoyed reading, playing cards, and watching the Cubs and Green Bay Packers play. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He would often host family and friends in his home and was always quick and witty.

Jim is survived by his wife, Judy Bochinski; daughters, Kim (Dave) Sloey and Ann (Dan) Kunde; grandchildren, Danielle (Austin H.) Kunde, Matthew Sloey, Derek Kunde and Devin Kunde; siblings, Tom (Linda) Bochinski and John "Jack" (Sue) Bochinski; sister-in-law, Bonnie Bochinski; brothers-in-law, Steve (Carol) Demler and Jerry (Diane) Demler; sister-in-law, Mary (Keith) Beyer; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph J. and Marie (Sipple) Bochinski; parents-in-law, John (Georgianna) Demler; siblings, Jerry "Bo" Bochinski, Joe (Lois) Bochinski and MaryJo (Bob) Zier; and his beloved Dachshund, Bella.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his honor.

The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice, the staff at Ascension Mercy Medical Hospital, and Mary Beyer for all of their care and compassion along the way.
