James "Jim" E. Reed passed away on May 26, 2023, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. James born on September 26, 1946, in Oshkosh to Clinton and Veryl (Shaw) Reed Jr.

From 1971 to 1975, James served in The United States Naval Service. He was honorably discharged back into civilian life, where attended UW Oshkosh to pursue a degree in Archeology and Anthropology. He also worked and retired after 30 years at Oshkosh Corporation as a welder in many locations.

Activities he enjoyed included listening to Blues Music, dancing, detecting precious metals, fishing, and supporting local businesses. Jim was a member an archaeological group that was involved in historical research resulting in the excavation and collection of artifacts in our area dating back 800 years.

Survivors include his sister, Susan (Jeff) Lemiesz; brother, Brian Reed; nephews, Spencer Lemiesz and Michael Lemiesz; niece, Sara Lemiesz; and many loving cousins. He is further survived by special friends Teri Lyn Metz, Mary Lynn and all of his wonderful friends at Grace Fellowship Church of Appleton.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Clinton S. Reed Jr., and Veryl (Shaw) Reed.

An inurnment will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023, at 1000am, Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, 2786 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh, WI 54901. All are welcome to join. Memorials can be made to honor Jim by supporting local musicians in Fox Valley.
