James M. Schraa, age 69, passed away peacefully Wednesday April 23, 2008 at Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King, WI. He was born in Oshkosh on October 10, 1938, son of the late Clement and Beatrice Kilbey Schraa. James married Dorothy Jean Shepherd on May 5, 1975 in Alexandria, Virginia. James served in the US Army from 1957 to 1963 serving time in Germany. James was employed by Badger Concrete in Oshkosh and moved to Alexandria, VA in 1974. James was an avid sports fan. He loved watching the Packers, Brewers and college and pro basketball seldom missing a game. James was very proud of the 300 game he bowled while in a league at King. James is survived by one son, Michael (Christine) Schraa, one daughter, Lisa Karow (fiancé Gary Pope) all of Oshkosh, daughter-in-law Tina Schraa, grandchildren include Lauren, Carly, Annalise Schraa. Tyler Schulz, Travis Karow. Stephanie, Joshua, and Kellen Schraa, and great- grandson Marcus. James is also survived by two brothers Clement (Joan) Schraa, Gerald (Correen) Schraa, one sister, Jeanne McCabe, along with numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Schraa in 1955, wife Dorothy Schraa in 2001, and son Donald Schraa in 2006. Funeral Services for James will be held on Tuesday May 6, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the King Veteran's Home Chapel (N2665 Cty Rd. QQ King, WI), with visitation at the chapel from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Oshkosh at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
