Obituary

James M Sitter, age 87, of Oshkosh died November 24, 2012, at his home with his wife, Donna and his family by his side. Jim was born on December 26, 1924, in Oshkosh, the son of the late Matthew and Petronella (Stadler) Sitter. Jim served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II stationed in the Pacific Theater. Jim was a proud veteran who always displayed his nation's flag in his back yard. Jim married Donna Wiatrowski on July 6, 1968.
Jim worked for CR Meyer construction, the City of Oshkosh, and Boyce construction.
Jim loved to deer and rabbit hunt, he also took great pride in taking care of his dogs that he had trained to hunt. Jim could always be found outside doing yard work or tinkering in his garage. He enjoyed giving candy bars to the sanitation workers, the letter carrier, and the paper boy when he could catch them. Jim could make friends with anyone, his best friend Joe Youngbauer would come to visit and they would talk about the good old days and share stories.
Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years Donna, his sons; James (Heidi) Sitter, and George (Carla) Sitter, his daughters; Marcia McCutchen of South Carolina, and Anna (Kevin) Swan. His four step children: Christien Hafemiester AZ, Glen Schroeder, AZ, Cindy (Frank) Frye CO, and Sheila (Greg) Frank of Oshkosh. Jim is further survived by 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and four nephews; Thomas, Mike, Tim, and Patrick Kilp.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Matthew, and Petronella. His half-brother Daniel Kilp, three uncles: George, Carl and Paul, his sister, and one great grandchild Owen Robert Balda.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff from Affinity Hospice, and Quality Home care who did an excellent job taking care of Jim.
