Obituary

Jan Witte, age 58, of Oshkosh, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. Jan was born September 5, 1952, in Sheboygan, WI to Harvey and Gloria (Franz) Witte. She was educated in Sheboygan schools and then went to UW Oshkosh to earn a BA in Journalism. She was employed for many years by J.J. Keller, Inc. Jan loved music and was an accomplished pianist. As a long time member of Plymouth Congregational Church of Oshkosh, she played for The Kings' Men singing group for a number of years; the New Life Singers and the Plymouth Church Choir. She later became secretary for Plymouth Church and for over twelve years served with much distinction and appreciation in a vital administrative role. Anyone who knew Jan knew of her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Anyone who knew her also observed that even as her body weakened, she continued to administratively minister, being made strong with God's grace (2 Cor. 4:16).

Jan is survived by her brother, Bob (Terri) of Union Grove, WI; niece, Kristen (Ronnie) Beesley; nephews, Brian (Sara) Witte and Branden (Rachel) Witte; her cat, Toby; many friends and her Plymouth Church Family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her great nephew, Carter Witte.

Church Family and Friends will gather at a Memorial Service to celebrate Jan's life and faith on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 7:00 pm at Plymouth Congregational Church, 1325 Georgia St., Oshkosh, with Pastors Rick Hopkins, Joel Wynn, Jim Stadler, and Lynn Scovil participating. Jan will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Kohler, WI.
