Jennifer Scherer

Jennifer C. Scherer, age 53, of Oshkosh, WI, entered the heavens on September 11, 2026, after losing her courageous battle with cancer at Aurora Medical Center Oshkosh, surrounded by her loved ones.

Jen was born June 18, 1973, in Oshkosh, WI to David Joseph Scherer and Deborah Jean (Barnett) Scherer. She spent her childhood growing up on her family farm between Oshkosh and Omro, where she developed her love for furry felines and practiced her own religion of Rock ’N’ Roll.

After graduating from Omro High School in 1991, Jen held several jobs around Omro before eventually making her way to the “big city” of Oshkosh. There, she worked and bartended at several establishments before finishing her bartending career at Casey’s Pub, where she became a familiar face and a favorite among many.

Jennifer, aka Jen, GG, Jen Jen, Sis, Sissy, Aunt Jen, and Kitty Mom, was definitely known by many names. She was also frequently greeted with “Sweety,” “Honey,” “Excuse me,” “Hey, barkeep,” and, of course, “Hey, you!” Jen was a fun-loving bartender who genuinely enjoyed serving others and making her patrons happy.

Jen loved baking and cooking and was always happy to share her creations at the bar. She loved watching Friends and the Food Network, especially Rachael Ray—so much so that her kitchen looked like it came straight out of one of the shows.

Jen was fiercely independent, strong-willed, wonderfully silly and sassy, and possessed a raw sense of humor. She was never afraid to speak her mind and, on more than one occasion, was intentionally a little gross and disgusting—especially when she was trying to make her nieces and nephews gag. Those who knew Jen know exactly what that means!)

She loved spending time with her friends in the kitchen, competing in foosball tournaments, going to concerts, and simply having a good time. She also proudly loved her Packers and Brewers!

Above all, Jen loved her family and friends deeply and treasured the people who surrounded her. She fought hard, loved fiercely, and lived life in her own unique way.

Jen was proceeded in death by her mother, Debby (Barnett) Daul(1954- 2016 Quesnel, BC); grandparents Joe and Lavina Scherer; Ralph Barnett and Mildred (Andresen)(Barnett) “Bud” Reany.

Jen is survived by her father, David Scherer (Micky”Mic”, Karlee, and Dillon); brother, Jeff Scherer (Kim, Brett, Bryanna, Brody, Brooke, and Briggs); stepfather, Wayne Daul (Luke, Adam, Kurt, Joe, Amanda); and numerous extended family members.

A special thank-you goes out to everyone who loved Jen, supported her, laughed with her, shared memories with her, and was part of her life. She loved all of you very much!

Jen wanted a celebration of life rather than a traditional funeral, and in true Jen fashion, it will be a time to come together, share stories, laugh, and celebrate the life she lived.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 3:00 PM until close, at Casey’s Pub — Oshkosh, WI. 

Jen will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten!
